SeaWilding is a pioneering, community-led Scottish charity working with coastal communities to restore degraded inshore marine habitats and so enhance biodiversity, improve water quality and sequester carbon. SeaWilding also develops best practice, low-cost methodologies and training programmes to help other coastal communities do the same.
Due to the growth of the organisation and associated activities, they needed a new lightweight, robust vessel which could be used flexibly for restoration and research work including moving oyster cages and equipment, seagrass planting, marine habitat survey, dive-support and passenger transport.
In 2023 SMEEF was able to provide a grant of £27,068 to support this work using resources from the Nature Restoration Fund.
