Clean Coast Outer Hebrides’s mission and mission is to protect the coastline and end coastal pollution around the islands. They do this by working on issues related to natural resources, tourism, and facilitating community-led activities. As well as beach cleans, they educate, inform and inspire; and campaign about environmental issues. Their community beach clean campaign was supported by SMEEF with a new display trailer which helped the group reach new audiences and increase visibility and support.
“Having that wonderful display trailer has made such a difference to us, not only at beach cleans, but having a very visible presence at various shows and galas on the island where we have gained more members, received more donations, and raised awareness.”
In 2021 SMEEF was able to provide a grant of £12,664 to support this work using resources from the Nature Restoration Fund.
