Seagrass / Solway Firth

The intertidal areas of the Solway Firth are dominated by sand and mudflats and, where present, seagrass beds provide diversity. The Solway Firth Partnership have conducted surveys focused on the species of the genus Zostera. They also did a further study to assess seagrass distribution and health at locations known historically to contain seagrass beds at the northern shores of the Firth.
