SMEEF wins ‘Highly Commended’ Award at the NOSA

Last week, the Nature for Scotland Awards (NOSA) took place in Edinburgh to celebrate projects and individuals that have been making a positive impact on Scotland’s natural environment. SMEEF had the pleasure of being shortlisted for an award in the ‘Coasts and Waters Category’. We are very happy to announce that we were awarded with the ‘Highly Commended’ award for our work in supporting more than 50 marine enhancement projects across Scotland, through public and private finance. It is great to see our work recognised and we are also thrilled for the rest of the inspiring projects that received awards.

Cathy Tilbrook, the Head of the Sustainable Coasts and Seas Team within NatureScot said:

Receiving a ‘Highly Commended’ award in such a hotly contested category is a huge achievement for SMEEF! It’s testament to the strong partnerships we have developed, the hard work and creativity of our small staff team and the generous support of our contributors that we have achieved so much in a short time. This will spur us on to scale up our efforts in enhancing the state of nature in our coasts and seas”.

We were also very happy to see many of the projects we have funded receiving awards. Biosecurity for LIFE won the award in the ‘Coasts and Waters Category’ and COAST won ‘ Highly Commended’ in the same category.

Thank you to the RSPB for organising such a brilliant event and for everyone who made the finalists ceremony possible.
