SMEEF accepts contributions from people and businesses genuinely interested in improving the health of Scotland’s seas and coasts.
Using insights gained from our unique position within the Scottish Government’s Marine Directorate, Crown Estate Scotland and NatureScot, we distribute and blend the funding to maximise impact.

SMEEF delivers for communities and nature.
All our funding is aligned to important policy areas including the Marine Restoration Plan, the Scottish Biodiversity Strategy and the Seabird Action Plan.
SMEEF intends to be an effective long-running funding mechanism that will help meet the challenges of the climate and biodiversity crisis and provide high integrity opportunities for business to play their part in a nature positive future.
