What guidance is there for the restoration of other species and habitats?

Other species may benefit from enhancement, including removal of pressures, or whole systems approach including work on land to improve siltation for example. Before you begin any work it is worthwhile investigating what other people have done for example the DEEP Project in Dornoch Firth has recently carried out some mapping of Blue mussels and horse mussels (Modiolus modiolus) as part of the identification of suitable areas for Native Oyster restoration. As both Blue mussels and Flame Shells are Priority Marine Features NatureScot will hold relevant survey data as part of e.g. PMF/ MPA monitoring.
