What guidance is there for the restoration of other species and habitats?

Other species which may be suitable for targeted restoration work include (but are not limited to) Blue mussels (Mytilus edulis) and Flame shells (Limaria hians). Before you begin any work on these or any species it is worthwhile investigating what other people have done to support the restoration of these species for example the DEEP Project in Dornoch Firth has recently carried out some mapping of Blue mussels and horse mussels (Modiolus modiolus) as part of the identification of suitable areas for Native Oyster restoration. As both Blue mussels and Flame Shells are Priority Marine Features NatureScot will hold relevant survey data as part of e.g. PMF/ MPA monitoring.
